Tenant Responsibilities

It is important as tenants that you assist in the ongoing care and maintenance of the property that you are leasing. This will ensure that at the end of your tenancy you will receive all of your bond back. Below is a list of some of the things that you are responsible for as a tenant. If you have any questions in relation to this please contact your property manager.

  1. Checking Smoke alarm batteries on a regular basis
  2. Cleaning out the split system air conditioner filters
  3. Felt and furniture protectors should be used under furniture on floorboards
  4. Wiping away condensation around window sills to prevent mould forming
  5. Change light bulbs when necessary and at the end of the tenancy
  6. Clean grouting in shower/bathroom regularly.
  7. Clean exhaust fans in kitchen and bathroom regularly
  8. Weed and tidy garden on a regular basis unless gardening is included in your tenancy agreement.
  9. Watering of garden
  10. Notifying your property manager of any maintenance or damage that occurs in the property within 48 hours of it occurring.
  11. Put rugs down in high traffic area to avoid carpet or floorboard damage

Not putting foreign matter, food or hair down drains that could cause blockages
